Students will examine myths, parables, and fairy tales from both real and imagined cultures and analyze the meaning, tone, and stylistic choices evident in each piece. Students will use seven stylistic elements to shape and drive their own stories: word choice and sentence flow, literary devices, character development, plot development, narrative perspective, setting, and mood. Students will design a rubric, give feedback to one another using the rubric, and revise their stories using their feedback.
