THE ROLE OF A WRITER IS
NOT TO SAY WHAT WE ALL CAN SAY,
BUT WHAT WE ARE UNABLE TO SAY.

Participation
The utility of this class depends on active participation in discussion and peer feedback. Students are expected to arrive on time and prepared to discuss readings with personal interpretations and informed questions. The quality and depth of student participation in each class will be assessed. If for any reason you are unable to attend class, please notify your instructor as soon as possible through email or text. |
Writing
Students must keep a designated notebook for journaling. Journals must be bound. NO loose pages. Students will complete all preliminary outlines, drafts, and informal writing in their journals. Students will watch a brief video during each class, and write four to six sentences in a well-structured paragraph within ten minutes. Before each Monday class, students must review portfolio feedback and revise their showcase pieces in response. |
